Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions cover various aspects of engaging with BEAM Driving School:

Cancellation Policy: Clients are required to give 24 hours notice to cancel a lesson booking, and failure to do so may result in a fee. No shows will incur the full lesson cost. In the case of the PDA being cancelled by the Department of Transport the student will be charged for the time spent with the instructor.
Payment: Payment is to be made at the beginning of each session directly to the instructor.
Termination of Lesson: BEAM Driving School reserves the right to terminate a lesson if the client's behaviour warrants it, such as reckless behaviour, failure to comply with instructions, or suspicion of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. In such cases, the full fee for the lesson and/or test will be required.
License Responsibility: Clients must hold a current Australian driving license or equivalent overseas license and carry it during lessons.
Gift Vouchers: Gift vouchers must be redeemed within 6 months of the purchase date, otherwise, they are deemed invalid.
Lost Property: The responsibility for any personal property left in the instructor's vehicle lies with the client.
Liability for Traffic Infringements: BEAM Driving School does not accept responsibility for traffic infringement notices incurred while students are driving.
Lesson Rescheduling: The school reserves the right to reschedule a lesson due to unforeseen circumstances.
Independent Instructors: Clients understand that the driving instructor is not an employee, agent, contractor, or subcontractor of BEAM Driving School, however driving instructors exerting work from the BEAM Driving website are vetted and assessed to ensure a high quality of lessons.
Liability Disclaimer: BEAM Driving School is not responsible or liable for any claims, losses, damages, or harm suffered as a result of booking or attending a lesson with a driving instructor.
Independent Examiners: Authorised examiners used for testing are independent of the company, and the school accepts no responsibility for the outcome of any driving assessment.
Vehicle Damage Responsibility: Learners using an instructor's vehicle for any driving assessment are responsible for the cost of any repairs relating to damage caused or the insurance excess applicable.
Photograph Use: Learner drivers accept that BEAM Driving School may collect and use photographs for marketing purposes.

These terms aim to ensure clarity and mutual understanding between the driving school and its clients regarding their rights, responsibilities, and liabilities.

Manual Car Hire Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility

The hirer must hold a current learner’s permit and be accompanied by a supervising driver who has held a full manual driver’s licence for at least 4 years, or be a licensed driving instructor with a valid instructor’s licence.
The supervising driver must be present at all times while the learner is driving.

2. Vehicle Collection & Return

The vehicle is to be collected and returned to:
2 Stainton Place, Leeming WA 6149.
The vehicle must be returned on or before the end of the hire period.
A $50 late return fee applies for returns up to 30 minutes late. Any return beyond 30 minutes will incur the next full hire tariff.
The vehicle must be returned filled with 95 petrol. A refuelling fee may apply if this is not done.

3. Bond & Payments

A $1,000 bond applies for non-Beam students. This is refundable upon safe return of the vehicle, provided no damage, fines, or fuel charges apply.
All hires are to be paid in full prior to the start of the hire period. An electronic invoice will be issued and must be settled before collection.
The bond may be withheld or reduced to cover:
- Damage to the vehicle
- Late return fees
- Fuel shortfall
- Cleaning or administration fees (if required)

4. Insurance & Excess

The vehicle is insured for learner use under supervision; however, the insurance excess is $1,300.
The supervising driver is responsible for ensuring safe vehicle operation at all times.
In the event of an accident, the supervising driver must:
- Gather all details of other involved parties, witnesses, and vehicles
- Notify Beam Driving School as soon as possible
- Provide a written incident report within 24 hours

5. Use of the Vehicle

The vehicle may only be used for driving practice or driving tests within Western Australia.
The vehicle must not be used:
- For racing, off-road use, or towing
- By anyone not listed as the supervising driver or learner
- Under the influence of drugs or alcohol

6. Condition of Vehicle

The vehicle will be supplied in clean, roadworthy condition.
The hirer is responsible for returning the car in the same condition.
Any damage, new warning lights, or mechanical issues must be reported immediately.

7. Cancellations

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the hire period may incur a fee.
Refunds for early returns are not provided once the hire period has commenced.
